So you want to know what makes us tick, huh?
In all honesty, I fell into the wedding videography business completely by accident. In the summer of 2003, a family friend asked me if I knew any wedding videographers. I didn’t. As a film editor by trade, and a part-time camera-operator, I thought I’d tackle the task for them.
I shot their wedding, capturing all the right events (while being a guest, too!) and what I thought they might like to see. I spent some time capturing some really beautiful moments, and stuff that I knew they wouldn’t have requested. I had planned on simply burning all the footage to DVD, and that’s it. But I started to work with the footage. I added some music, and started to tap my foot. I cleaned up some particular edits, and really started to get into it. A few long days later, I had created a 20-minute montage of their entire day, driven by great cinematography and the perfect music.
They were thrilled with what I had created. They told a few friends, and before I knew it, the business was born! 5 years later, I have a few talented camera-operators and editors working for me, and we have hundreds of happy clients. We still don’t advertise. Instead, we prefer to work for clients who have been referred to us from other happy clients.
